IKO Roofing Company in Miami: What to Know First
We’re an independent IKO roofing company in Miami, which means we repair and replace IKO shingle roofs without being tied to the manufacturer’s script. Most IKO repairs in Miami run $350 to $950 depending on what failed, and a full IKO tear-off and replacement typically lands between $9,500 and $16,000 for an average Miami single-family home. You’ll get a written price before we touch the roof, and every repair leaves with a written guarantee in your hand.
If you own a home with IKO shingles and you’ve spotted granules in the gutter, a leak near a valley, or shingles lifting after a storm, this page is for you. Call (850) 613-1762 and we’ll schedule a free inspection.
How IKO Products Fail – and How We Fix Them
IKO makes a broad range of shingles, and the failure patterns we see in Miami are usually tied to heat, humidity, and wind-driven rain rather than a single bad batch. Here’s what we find on actual roofs, not in brochures:
- Cambridge series granule loss on south-facing slopes. The IKO Cambridge line, especially the older AR (algae-resistant) runs from the mid-2010s, sheds granules faster than expected under Miami’s UV load. The tell is a darkening roof plane with bare asphalt patches showing through. We document the loss, check whether the shingle still has dimensional thickness, and either patch the affected slope or recommend a full reslope before underlayment gets exposed.
- Nordic double-layer shingles lifting at the leading edge. IKO Nordic installs as a heavyweight double-thickness shingle, but on older Miami homes without a raised heel truss, the weight pulls the first course out of plane. You’ll see a slight curl or a shadow line at the eaves. The fix is usually new fasteners at the right spacing plus reseating the starter course, not just nailing down the lifted edge and hoping.
- Valley leaks on Dynasty-woven valleys. IKO Dynasty is a common mid-grade line in Miami, and installers sometimes weave valleys instead of cutting them open. Weaved valleys trap debris and hold water against the shingle’s side lap, which leads to slow staining and eventually a leak at the valley center. We cut the valley open, install a proper metal valley liner, and re-lay the shingles to OEM spec so water moves out instead of sitting.
- Crowne Slate cracking at the nail line. IKO Crowne Slate is a high-end architectural with a thick nailing zone, but when installed over old decking with too much deflection, the shingle flexes and cracks right at the nail. That crack is a water entry point that moves every time the roof heats and cools. We repair by pulling the cracked shingle, checking the decking beneath, and reinstalling with hand-nailing at the manufacturer’s recommended torque.
- Marathon algae streaking on northeast exposures. Miami’s humidity means algae growth on almost any shingle, but IKO Marathon shows streaking early on shaded northeast roof planes. It’s rarely a leak issue, but it’s ugly and eats at resale value. We clean with a low-pressure sodium hypochlorite treatment, not a pressure washer, because pressure washing strips granules and voids the finish warranty.

Our IKO Roofing Company Process
Every IKO job follows the same sequence, whether it’s a three-shingle patch or a full replacement. Greg Holloway built this process because he got tired of watching homeowners get burned by vague estimates and disappearing crews.
- 1
Call and describe the problem. A live person answers at (850) 613-1762, even on weekends. We ask where the leak is, when you first noticed it, and whether you’ve had prior work done.
- 2
Free inspection and written diagnosis. We get on the roof, check the IKO shingles, the underlayment, the flashing, and the decking where we can see it. We then hand you a written price before any work starts.
- 3
Parts decision made together. We use OEM IKO shingles when the line is still in production and available in Miami. When a color or series is discontinued, we walk you through quality aftermarket matches and tell you exactly what differs.
- 4
Repair or replacement. The work gets done by background-checked, uniformed roofers who leave the job site cleaner than they found it. That’s a Kingswell standard, not a suggestion.
- 5
Testing and written guarantee. For repairs, we water-test the area after the work is done. Before the crew leaves, you get the written guarantee in hand. Not mailed later. Not promised.
- 6
365-day follow-through. If a repair fails inside the guarantee period, we return at no charge under the 365-Day Done Right Promise. The guarantee period starts the day the work finishes, not the day you call about a problem.

AfterWhat IKO Roofing Company Costs in Miami
Most IKO repairs we do in Miami fall in the $350 to $950 range. Minor shingle replacements, a valley repair, or resealing a pipe boot land at the lower end. Larger repairs like a full reslope, replacing rotted decking, or rebuilding a valley with new metal liner push toward the upper end and occasionally beyond it when decking is involved.
A full IKO tear-off and replacement in Miami typically runs $9,500 to $16,000 on an average single-family home. The price moves with roof size, slope, number of penetrations, decking condition, and whether you need permit drawings. Miami-Dade code compliance adds work that cheaper bids often skip, and that skipping is exactly what you’ll pay for later. Call (850) 613-1762 and we’ll give you a line-item written estimate, no charge and no pressure.
Why Miami Homeowners Call Tilehurst Roofing Miami for IKO Work
Most of our Miami customers have already been burned once. They hired someone who no-showed, or changed the price at the door, or patched a leak that came back in six weeks. That’s why we built the Kingswell Way: say the price before the work, show up in the window we gave, leave the place cleaner than we found it, put the guarantee in writing, and come back if it fails.
We’re a Kingswell family company, founded in 2000, and every job carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If it’s not right, we make it right for a full year. We answer every call with a live person, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. And if IKO isn’t the right product for your next full replacement, we install GAF, Owens Corning, and CertainTeed too – because the shingle should fit the home, not just what’s in the truck. Greg Holloway has been working roofs across Miami for years, including plenty of barrel-tile and shingle jobs throughout Coral Gables, and he applies what he knows about Miami heat and hurricane season on every inspection.
Know the price before we touch the roof – that’s the only way we work.
FAQs
Yes. When your IKO shingles are still under the manufacturer’s material warranty, we match the as-installed series and follow IKO’s installation specifications on every repair so you don’t void that coverage. For the labor, every repair we perform carries our own written guarantee, delivered before the crew leaves your driveway.
IKO is still manufacturing shingles, and most lines including Cambridge, Dynasty, Nordic, Crowne Slate, and Marathon remain available through Miami roofing supply houses. When a specific color has been discontinued, we show you the closest available match from IKO or explain the differences in a quality aftermarket alternative before any work starts.
Repair makes sense when the roof has five or more years of useful life and the damage is isolated to one or two areas. The deciding factors are the age of the underlayment, the condition of the decking around the damage, and whether the same series shingle is still being made. We’ll tell you which way the math points during the free inspection, and we’ll put the recommendation in writing.
We schedule inspections within the week, and for active leaks we prioritize getting a tarp over the damaged area quickly. We never promise we can arrive in an hour, but we do answer the phone 24/7 and we’ll tell you exactly when to expect us. Call (850) 613-1762 and you’ll get a real person and a real window.
Yes. For full replacements and any structural decking work, we pull the required Miami-Dade permits and schedule inspections. We don’t treat permits as an optional add-on. The permit protects the value of your home and confirms the work matches code, and it’s part of the written price we give you before the job begins.
